Field Trip March 22nd, 2009

Altruistic Photos & Franklin County Missouri Camera Club is hosting a Spring is Coming Field Trip / Photo shoot March 22, 2009 at 8:00am at Shaw's Nature Reserve in Gray Summit Missouri. http://www.shawnature.org/ This will be the first of a field trip series. There will 4 field trips all together so you can get some great shots of the Wildlife and Flowers as the season goes on.

So, pack a picnic, your family and don't for get your camera and join us for a wonderful day in nature.

Hoping for Warmer Weather

WoW! Is it cold here in Missouri. The temps are dropping fast now that evening is apon us. All I can think of is I sure hope it gets warmer by saturday. We are to do a Senior Photo Shoot outside and if its still cold like right now we won't be able to. Hum, will have to think of a couple locations inside to do these photos. Well I guess we will see what tomorrow and tomorrow evening brings.

We are now offering Portrait Parties in Franklin County Missouri and surrounding areas.

What is a portrait party?

Portrait parties are a fun and affordable opportunity for you and your friends /family to have professional portraits taken in the comfort of your home or location of your choice. The host of the party may invite 6 – 10 people/families to the party (minimum of 6 sessions) and will receive some great credits towards portraits. The party is organized by the host. As a host, you are responsible for pulling together the location, snacks, drinks, any activities, the guest list, and scheduling the sessions for each person/family. As a guest, you will enjoy free portrait session and awesome incentive programs that can greatly reduce or even eliminate your print costs! After the party, guest can view and order their photos from their party session right online! It doesn’t get easier than that.

There is….. NO Sitting fee, NO Session Fee, NO sales presentation, NO obligation to purchase anything!

As a host of a portrait party, what do I get for all my hard work?

As a host of a portrait party, you will receive 10% commission on all sales from your party to be applied towards your purchase. You will also earn for future purchases $25.00 for every party booked and completed from your party. For every party with a minimum party sales amount of $300.00 or more the host receives a FREE 8x10 portrait.

How do I schedule a portrait party?

Review the “What are the host’s responsibilities?” section, think of a date and location for your party. Next, contact Sue and Tina at altruisticphotos@yahoo.com or call us at 636-322-8783 or 314-307-4314 for more information or to set your party date. Once a date is set, we will get your hostess packet to you.

The hostess packet will include the following: Portrait Party Host Checklist, Guest Form, Host Session Schedule, Invitations and What to wear/not wear guide.

What are the host’s responsibilities?

The host is the main ingredient to a successful portrait party. As a host, it is you responsibility to organize location, time, snacks, drinks, any activities/games, the guest list and scheduling the sessions for each person/family. Each session lasts 15 minutes and you will need to schedule a 5 minute transition time between each session for gathering and organizing the next group. Hosts are encouraged to follow up with their guest with reminders to ensure each time block is filled. This encourages a great turn out and more portrait credits for the host. After the party, the portraits will be available online within 2 weeks. We encourage your guests to place their orders in a timely manner so that we can deliver the product quicker and you can then order your pictures quicker also. Your guests will have 10 days to place their order. Once all the orders are placed, the host can then place her order based on the sales of the quest. The more your quests order, the more credit you earn! All pictures are then sent to the host and the host will then disperse the prints accordingly. All picture orders will be sent out within 3 weeks of the final order.

As a quest, what should I do?

As a guest, it is your job to have some fun! Your host may ask you to bring a snack or beverage to share with everyone. It will also be your job, to fill out in advance and bring to the party, the Portrait Party Guest Form. (Your host will have these for you.) About 7 – 14 days after the party, you will receive an email from Altruistic Photos with instruction on how to view your portrait session online. The pictures will be online for 10 days so orders need to be placed during that time.
